At the Institute of Geodesy, we are dedicated to research and education in precise GNSS-based positioning and navigation, terrestrial gravimetry, and geoid determination. We also focus on modeling mass variations within the Earth system. We take great pride in our analysis of lunar laser measurements. Currently, we are placing increased emphasis on developing innovative measurement concepts for gravity field determination, in close collaboration with experts in physics.

Humboldt Research Fellowship: Dr. Alice Cicirello

Dr. Alice Cicirello, Associate Professor in Dynamics and Monitoring of Structures at TU Delft, has been awarded a Humboldt Research Fellowship for Experienced Researchers. She will be hosted jointly at the Institute for Risk and Reliability, Leibniz Universität Hannover, and at the Chair for reliability Engineering (Professor Matthias Faes), TU Dortmund. Together we are working towards a statistical model updating method that will account for mixed and limited information. The aim is to drastically improve safety and reduce inspections and maintenance costs of critical structures by accurately assessing the Safe Residual Life of the structures.
