Start of data collection in the AutoMAP project on 16 September 2024
Determining the exact position of vehicles is not only crucial for autonomous driving, but also for many other applications. In the mFUND project AutoMAP, which is funded by the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport, the Geodetic Institute is working together with its project partner, Quality Match GmbH, to develop a highly accurate positioning system (< 10cm) that will enable autonomous vehicles to precisely determine their position in their environment.
