University of Stuttgart honours geodesist

On Nov. 17, 2023 the University of Stuttgart has awarded Prof. Dr Christian Heipke an honorary doctorate. The award recognises Heipke's achievements in the research fields of photogrammetry and remote sensing, his extraordinary commitment to the further development of scientific organisations on a national and international level and his close ties to the University of Stuttgart.

Professor Heipke is director of the Institute of Photogrammetry and GeoInformation (IPI) at LUH since 1998, one of the four institutes that are responsible for the Geodesy and Geoinformatics degree programme in Hanover. "This unexpected honour is a great distinction for the research we conduct at IPI. In addition, it documents the long-standing and very successful connection between the two universities in photogrammetry and remote sensing, which I am very pleased about," says Christian Heipke.
